Socially awkward but feeling the need to engage your audience on social media? This is something I can definitely relate to!
Hi, my name is Mitka and I am here to help your B2B business rock it on social. Because many of your future customers may begin as humble likers and commenters. It’s almost 2025 and marketing planning is in full swing so let’s put some ideas on the table!
User Generated Content
To begin with, one of the most important trends I’ve noticed is incorporating social proof in the form of user generated content. You’ll be wrong to decide it works only for B2C - just have a scroll on LinkedIn. You can turn to your most loyal customers to get the ball rolling. Or you can even weave content generation within a rewards program.
Virtual round tables
We looove seeing people discuss our topics of interest - and your niche B2B expertise is someone else’s topic of interest. Hosting a round table is not that difficult these days using software like Zoom or Riverside. The reason why I’m not calling those webinars is because their purpose isn’t to generate leads or sell right away - it’s to educate and solve a problem. Just remember that a well-designed round table of industry experts should always include a moderator.
Social listening
Ever been on Reddit? You would be surprised to see even the most obscure B2B offerings discussed there. It’s currently the go-to space for research and honest opinions. And lots of spam, of course. The bottom line is you can learn a lot about your potential customers. Or what your current customers think of your product or service. Use this knowledge strategically to improve or start a conversation.
Industry expertise above all
In the age of AI, everything looks the same - a bland soup of mediocre opinions and tips. But you have something valuable - your industry expertise. You’re probably right that most people will get bored and fall asleep while you talk about the recent advances in telemedicine equipment. But the right people, those who are interested in your products, won’t. Especially if you put an interesting spin on it.
So please do use your voice, and louder for the people in the back.
Lastly, don’t forget to reply to comments and messages when they start coming. Always remember why it’s called social media.
